Movie Review: The Last Airbender – An Outsider’s View
I took my son to a birthday party this weekend, and as part of that, he got to see The Last Airbender. I waffled and hemmed and hawed, but figured I’d ride shotgun with him in case it got too scary (he’s a sensitive soul). Now, I’ve probably only seen about 10 minutes total of…

Movie Review: Toy Story 3
What? Oh hi, didn’t see you there…huh? No, I have something in my eye *sniff* that’s all. It’s a movie about toys for crying out loud! Uh, crying is a bad choice of words… The whole family went to see Toy Story 3 this weekend, and of course we all loved it. Plenty of action,…

Father's Day Weekend at Camp Findley
Most folks were already there when Jen, Mattie and I got there. The first night began with some swimming, but was mostly eating, getting everything squared away in the right spots, and herding 5 children into bed. That went better than expected for most of the days, actually. The rest of the days, the kids…

Back In Action
As you could probably tell, I was off the grid for the weekend, so not really any tweeting or blogging going on. I will have pictures of the kids up later, though, for those of you who like ’em. :)

M & M's – Tell Me I'm Not Alone In This
Holiday colored M &M’s taste different. Most notably the Easter-themed ones, in the pastel colors. People keep telling me that I’m full of it, but I can’t be. The holiday ones that are still the right color (red or some such) seem fine. Anyone else like that out there?

Movie Review: The A-Team
I went and saw The A-Team last night, and I have to say I enjoyed myself. It was exactly what I expected, nothing more, nothing less. It had plenty of nods to the series, while modernizing it and making it different enough that you didn’t feel like you’d seen it all before. Glad I went. …

Seeing Art
If you are like me, and you read Roger Ebert’s excellent Twitter feed and blog, you know he sometimes gets on a subject and won’t let go. Recently, one such topic has been how video games can’t be art. Now, video games are pretty close to my heart (as close as movies are to Mr.…

Simulating Mars
There is a simulation going on in Russia right now, with a team of ‘astronauts’ living in a series of modules designed to resemble a ship flying to Mars. They are stuck together in there for 520 days, about how long it would take to fly to Mars, to test whether 6 random scientists could…

Android 2.1 on the Hero
The Sprint Hero recently got the official Android 2.1 update, and I was running it via the DamageControl ROM before that. Some thoughts: It’s fast – you don’t see as many little hiccups when scrolling through apps or switching screens. Google Navigation is legit. Need to play with it more, but seems more user friendly. Better…

Big Website Announcement!
Hey, guys. I have decided to put a little separation between my Sabres/NHL bloggin’ and tweetin’, and everything else. So now, if you want to read about my thoughts on the Buffalo Sabres, go to Shutdown Pair. This site is still where you want to go for everything else, including my movie reviews, gadget talk,…

Movie Review: Iron Man 2
Saw this Friday morning, which is a great way to spend a day off, by the way. Very much enjoyed it, a worthy successor to the first, but not without a few minor flaws that keep it from being ‘better’. But really, who cares? It was still GREAT. Spoilers to follow…consider yourself warned!

Happy Mother's Day!
I would like to wish all the Mommies out there, especially my wife and Mommy of Thomas, Mattie, and little Eva to be, a wonderful day!
