ok then would i be in close enough proximity to the swarm to illicit a good effect?
did we decide  if the storm will be tiny, small or medium for my distance roll?

TheTick

They are actually diminutive, which I believe are covered by the 'tiny' flying creature effect: If flying, a Tiny or smaller creature is blown back 2d6×10 feet and takes 2d6 points of nonlethal damage due to battering and buffeting. I've been thinking you are in the middle of the action, so that should push the bees back a fair bit - at the very least, give you a round of breathing room.

BigbyMichael

great! so my rolls are logged then and no need for a move action. let me know when to roll distance and damage

TheTick

Just want to confirm, Felicity is going to run for her bow, and Felix and Big Al have actions ready to go...right?

Does casting a spell count as action? Or do I need to do something else too?

TheTick

You would still have your move action, which can be movement (obviously) or stuff like drawing a weapon, readying/dropping a shield, and some other stuff.

Yep.  Not being terribly useful in this fight, am hoping to figure out if there is someone in (or near) the forest who summoned or directed the bees to attack.

SteveRogers

Probably just forego movement and focus on the spell.

TheTick

Cool.  Probably won't get a chance to write things up until later tonight.

i already threw down a 32 perception which should tell us something about the summoner when my turn comes

BigbyMichael

ok no luck. what about the damage on the bees?

debating between charging up frost fall for when they get close or hitting them at a distance with ice spears

Tick
if I use ice spears would it be able to hit the bees as a group?
someone get on the other swarm

TheTick

You know, I think it would - it doesn't target a single enemy and it has to be pretty big to start in a square and go 10ft high.  You can't trip a swarm so the secondary effect wouldn't have any effect.
