Chapter One, Part Two: The Road to Brinewall

S'Vith pops his back and belches loudly, "Aye.  Nothing will stand between me and a cellar filled with cheese."

Porteiro

Jeddy wiggles his way past the tall folk.  In the chance that these creatures can be reasoned with, Jeddy doesn't want to leave it to the likes of Horcrust or SVith.

Horcrust concentrates, and at first it seems as if the lever won't budge.  It gives suddenly, and the outer door clatters up noisily.  The two creatures, napping against the back wall, jump up in a cloud of feathers.  Their gaze settles on the lever, and they slowly begin to walk over to it.

Jeddy, if you wish to talk to them, now is the time.  They haven't spotted you yet, but that might change as they get closer.  Jeddy and Horcrust will need Stealth checks if you want to stay hidden as they approach, if you don't talk to them.  Otherwise, let me know what you want to do.

Do they look the same?

I want to coup de grace the larger one.

Stealth Roll: 1d20+5: 2+5 = 7  >:(

I wish there were more emoticons.

SpamHead

My mistake. Horcrust stealthily walks away (not so stealthily according to the roll) to get behind more sturdy team members.

SteveRogers

S'Vith whispers to Jeddy, "Wise one, shall we try to communicate with these creatures?"

Porteiro

Jeddy clears his through loudly.  "Excuse me, fellows.  Could I spare a moment of your time?"

TheTick

Catching sight of the Halfling after he spoke, the bird/man things start screeching loudly.  "CAW CAW CAW!"  The echoes are sure to carry...

Roll your initiative.  Anyone with knowledge skills can try to figure out what the things are, also.

Lotofsnow

"I don't think talking is going to work!" Faraway shouts over the exclamations of the birdmen while preparing to move in order to better defend Jeddy.

Owen moves in front of the group and stands ready.  He does not wish to strike first, but if any move to attack, he will retaliate.

Ready a power attack if either attack Owen or try to move past him.

Porteiro

Jeddy makes room for Owen, and readies his crossbow.
