Chapter One, Part One: Fires over Brinestump

Lotofsnow

#480
As the guardian focuses its attention on Owen, Faraway moves to the northwest, out of the creature's reach. He chants softly, and the wooden practice club begins to visibly harden. The shape changes, with a tough, knotted ball of wood forming at the end.

5' step to NW. Cast shillelagh

Phil

Owen takes a short step to the side to set up a flank with Faraway.  He then invokes a silent prayer to his goddess to lend strength to his arms and to guide his blade.

[Assuming the water doesn't look too deep for this to be something Owen would consider wise.]

"We care not for your treasure, risen one.  But we will release your soul from the unnatural force which binds it!"

mechanics: ShowHide

5' step to flank with Faraway, again assuming it doesn't look like a dumb thing to do.
Smite Evil swift action.  These rolls assume its evil, if not, subtract -3 attack and -1 damage.
6(1d20) +10 = 16; 5(2d6) +10 = 15
(forgot to include the flank on the roll, but definitely was planning on trying to set it up.)

TheTick

#482
Owen shifts his position and attempts to smash the skeleton, but it manages to dodge at the last second.  Faraway steps back and enchants his club.

(map later, but Horcrust, S'Vith, Jeddy are up)
Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you've got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception!

SpamHead

Horcrust begins summoning a minion for a flank.

TheTick

(your summon will appear at the next round, just tell me what you are bringing in.)

SpamHead

Entropic eagle (figured out I summon Entropic creatures rather than Celestial ones)

SteveRogers

S'Vith leaps at the enemy, hoping to restrain him before he can wreak further havoc upon S'Vith's friends.

Grapple Roll 1d20+5 : 17 + 5, total 22

TheTick

Horcrust begins summoning some assistance as S'Vith manages to get a hold on the skeleton.

(Just Jeddy left before the skeleton's turn)

Porteiro

Unable to attack the skeleton directly, Jeddy instead helps his teammates.

(CLW @ Owen, heal [1d8]2 + 3 = 5 HP)

TheTick

Jeddy moves behind Owen, and the Paladin feels the surge of positive energy well up in him.  The skeleton seems to regard the hand gripping him for a moment before scratching S'Vith painfully with his bony hand. (-4hp)

Phil

Owen finds the grappled skeleton an easy target, letting loose with the full power of his blade.

18(1d20) +10 = 28; 10(2d6) +10 = 20
This roll includes a flank, either with the eagle (don't see it on the map) or with S'Vith if I need a 5' step.
Bypasses DR since its a smite attack.  Woot.

Lotofsnow

Faraway, enchanted club ready, steps into his previous position, and lays into the creature with it.

Shillelagh 1d20+7 : 14 + 7, total 21
Damage 2d6+5 : 1, 1 + 5, total 7

Club becomes +1 and is considered large sized for damage purposes.

SteveRogers

S'Vith wrestles fiercely with the skeleton, trying to find a weakness or brittle place in its bones.

Grapple 1d20+10 : 1 + 10, total 11
Damage 1d6+3 : 3 + 3, total 6

TheTick

The skeleton slips S'Vith's grip and stands free of the Monk.  Horcrust's eagle appears, raking and biting at the enemy, but missing each time.

Initiative: ShowHide
Jeddy - 22
Skeleton - 18
Owen - 13
Faraway - 12
Horcrust - 6
S'Vith - 4

Had the eagle do it's Smite Law feature and attack the skeleton - unfortunately, it rolled poorly.  Will stick around one more round.  Horcrust has his own actions this round, and Jeddy as well.  Can't do a map update, but Faraway, the eagle, S'Vith and Owen are all next to the skeleton.

SpamHead

"Just die already!"

Attack Roll = 1d20+2 : 18+2 = 20

Damage Roll = 1d6+4 : 3+4 = 7

OOC: Used one of my own dice at home and got lucky!

Horcrust burns the skeleton with a flaming blast.
