(re: Initiative - all 4 goblins beat you, so they'll go, then you'll go)

Gutwad exhorts his warriors on, and they attack.  The first goblin swings wildly at Owen, missing and nearly losing his grip on his dogslicer.  A second one moves up and jabs at the Paladin and manages to find a gap in his armor. (-2hp)  The third goblin seems content to stand behind his comrades and laugh at Owen's wound. (readies an action)

The goblin chief moves a bit and fires his longbow at S'Vith, and the arrow hits the monk in the leg. (-3hp)

Anyone can give their action, unless it relies on someone else doing something - Faraway, Owen, S'Vith, Jeddy, Horcrust is the order.

Owen swings his sword at the goblin who knifed him, but the little bugger ducks underneath it at the last second.  Blast it!    Who'd have thought that fighting little greenskins would be so challenging?

"Gutwad, by order of Sheriff Hemlock, your life is forfeit.

I rolled a damn 7.  Starting to frustrating.

Swift Action:  Smite Evil on Gutwad.  Five foot step to the west, to allow others clear line of sight

Lotofsnow

Faraway jumps along side Owen. The druid stabs at the goblin preoccupied with dodging the paladin's attacks.

Owen and Faraway both miss their targets.

S'Vith roars with an intensity rivaled only by his greedy stomach as he rushes the goblin to Faraway's right.  He briefly closes his eyes and mutters a benediction to some god or another (he doesn't particularly one way or the other) and lets loose with a flurry of blows.

Horcrust uses Summon Monster I (celestial dire rat I think)

TheTick

The goblin raises it's rough-hewn wooden shield and easily deflects S'Vith's first attack.  The peals of laughter from the collected greenskins is short-lived, however, when the monk's knee drives through the goblin's jaw, shattering it.  It lands on the wooden floor with a loud thump, raising a cloud of dust.

Horcrust begins casting a spell of summoning.  (as mentioned, the creature will appear at the beginning of his next turn.  Jeddy is up.)

Jeddy shifts to the left and takes a shot at the nearest goblin, sticking it in the neck.

OOC:   I don't see how many HP #1 has, so I don't know if I killed it or not.

crossbow attack: 1d20 + 3 = 20 + 3 = 23 = hit.  Critical Threat.
Criticial roll: 1d20 + 8 = 18 + 3 = 21.  Critical.  2x Damage
Damage = 1d6 (x2) = 4 (x2) = 8 damage

TheTick

Even with firing into a melee, Jeddy's crossbow bolt manages to drop the goblin dead on the spot.  Gutwad's last remaining goblin grunt gets a prod in the back from his leader and jumps forward, attacking S'Vith and manages to nick him with his rusty dogslicer. (-2hp)  Gutwad grins and aims again with his longbow, but his shot is way off.  He stomps in anger, and nearly jumps to the ceiling when Horcrust finishes casting his spell and a Celestial Dire Rat appears in front of him.

(good guys are all up again.  Faraway, Owen, S'Vith, Jeddy, Horcrust is the order, though if your act doesn't depend on the person before you, go for it, in the interest of saving time)

S'Vith chuckles madly and shouts, "I just wanted some cheese!"  He lets loose on the goblin directly in front of him with the fury of a stomach scorned.

Seeing S'Vith's attacks easily escaped, Faraway let's out a savage roar as he jabs the remaining grunt.

Just die you scum!

"Move aside, or you will be cut down!"  Owen says as he dispatches the goblin standing between himself and Gutwad with a well placed thrust of his blade.

The paladin then moves a little closer to the chiefton.  Five foot step if G1 can take OA's.  I think he's dead, but the skull thing is new to me so don't want to assume.

TheTick

Yes, skull=dead.  I'm using Maptool for my mapping now to speed things up a bit.

TheTick

Though the goblin moves with blazing speed, three enemies attacking proves to be too much, and Owen's sword skewers it.  The Paladin then moves next to Gutwad, who is still  holding his longbow.

(Horcrust and Jeddy can act.  So can the Dire Rat, though I imagine Horcrust just wants it to attack using Smite Evil, and I'll go with that unless otherwise specified.)
