Jade Regent - OOC

Faraway could try Wild Empathy on it.  Its a class feature that doesn't come up as often as one would like.  If successful, he could theoretically check out the room without being attacked.

And I still think that grappling and non-lethal damage could be used to subdue it to give time to check the room out and get out.  I don't expect it to chase us once we run out of the caves.

Phil

QuoteFrankly, Owen, I'm surprised in you.

Hey!  All of my contributions to this plan have been OOC :).

Lotofsnow

:)

Seriously, though, do we really want to take on a spider without delay poison or neutralize poison available to us?

SteveRogers

Oh, yes.  The drama.  It's delicious.

SpamHead

I have resistance for anyone who gets poisoned.

Phil

Dwarves also have a bonus to poison saving throws.

But really, I am fine with the risks.  Though this time I will let S'Vith lead the way.  Owen doesn't intend on being in melee range unless the dwarf and sorcerer look to be in trouble.

SteveRogers

Let's see what the spider does if it detects us.

I didn't intend to just attack the thing, but we can try to sneak a peak at the chamber.  If the spider attacks us first, then we can go from there.  I believe Horcrust already tried to cast a spell on the thing, so it likely already knows we're there.

Lotofsnow

Sleep is an area spell, so unless he could cover the entire room, he should probably wait until he knows where it is to cast it.

:D  Give me until tonight when I can work up a proper reply to all of this.
Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you've got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception!

Phil

I bet we could get some antivenom from Walthus.

SpamHead

That's awhile away (if we were too we would probably have a extended rest and regain spells).

Hey, if you want to get in that RHoD game, could you finish your application up? Like I said, I can't really play favorites, so if your application isn't completed, then I can't even consider it. Cut off is tomorrow evening. Here are the requirements:

Character Creation Guidelines
Allowed Books: Advanced Player's Guide, Pathfinder Core Rulebook, Ultimate Combat, Ultimate Magic.
Ability Scores: 20 point buy.
Races: Core only please.
Level: 5.
Wealth: 10,500gp.
Alignment: Lawful, Chaotic, or Neutral unless required by a specific class or feat. Works well with others is a must.
Classes: Any from the allowed books. Firearms are new so upgrades will be rare.
Traits: Any 2 from the allowed books. You may be given more based on background or in game factors at GM discretion.
Hit points: Max at 1st level and average after.

Description/Personality: A paragraph should suffice. I like pictures.
Background: Again, just a paragraph or so. Mind, you are a party that has been travelling together for some time. Your most recent action was the successful elimination of the bandit threat in a minor barony. Any way you want to tie your background into another poster's could be interesting, but please get that poster's approval first. Please tell me why your character is adventuring. This can be private or in PM if you wish.

Actually, looks like you're just missing background info.

Sucks because some applications I was looking forward to haven't even submitted character sheets.

TheTick

Just added a bit of background.  Gotta get in the habit of going to that site every day.
