I haven't quite settled on how best for me to roll my dice.  The problem with the forum die roller is that I nearly always find something in my post I want to edit after I make it.  But editing a post with the block-quote die roll and the forum accuses you of having cheated.  So then I remove the block-quote and the forum accusation (I hate the way it looks) and then there's no evidence that I actually used that roll...

The GITPF has it so that you can edit the post, but not the roll.  Unless you try and change the number or rolls you made, then it speaks up in protest.  Probably that software is a little more sophisticated.

So I may just use the roller Nighthawk made.

Should I just try to grapple this guy again?

My general advice would be:  If you can Flurry of Blows, do so.  If not, Grapple.

But if you grapple more that FoB, that's not the end of the world.

SteveRogers

I wasn't sure if I'd be close enough or not.

Phil

You presumably moved within melee range to apply the grapple, so should still be there.  There's eight squares around an enemy (barring terrain) so in theory there's plenty of room.

(But again, grappling again is not a bad idea.  We've got enough damage dealing capability [when we get some good rolls] so some control would be nice.)

I want to see what Jeddy does, but now that Owen is going to connect with a strike, the battle should shorten up a bit.

A general FYI for me:  I am off work starting tomorrow, through the new year. (Yay!)  Through Christmas, I'll be home and posting (though more in the evenings than in the daytime).  After that, I'll be in Virginia and less able to post, but may still be able to advance things a bit.

If S'Vith is going to be a hard drinker, you may want to consider the Drunken Master monk archetype.  Gives you a mechanical advantage for being drunk, starting at 3rd level.

Everyone add 250xp to your tally, as well.  For defeating Volorog and saving Walthus.

Was that a Sense Motive check there?

1.  S'Vith is more likely going to be a heavy eater who appreciates a hard drink when the situation demands (like after combat with a monster).

2.  How does one manage the xp thing?

TheTick

Fair enough, just making sure you'd seen it. :D  As for XP, just keep a tally of it somewhere - put it in your post in the character sheet thread, or somewhere like that.  I'll be tracking it to, but it helps to keep me honest.

Horcrust brings up a good point - I did forget the treasure from Volorog...all he had was a set of Leather armor, size small.  A bit smelly, but serviceable.

So, who wants this Cloak of Resistance? It is something any of us can use.

I think either Horcrust or Owen would probably benefit from it pretty well. Both have a save at +1 only. However, once we hit level 2, Owen's saves will get a hefty bonus.

Phil

Yes, I was thinking exactly that when I saw the cloak.  That with getting Divine Grace at level two, my saves will soon be pretty good.

That's not to say that a +1 wouldn't still help, and with a PBP getting to level 2 can take a very long time.  So it doesn't really matter much to me who gets it.

Phil

Owen promises to pay more attention to the "preview" button when posting so he doesn't miss any more of Jeddy's posts...
