Do it! Faraway won't stop you.

I know he wouldn't stop me.  Because he likely has some deep rooted hope S'Vith will get in over his head.  :P

Detect Magic finds nothing, well, magical.  And you see no chests or anything from the doors.  Any further investigation will require you to enter.
Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you've got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception!

SpamHead

Ah well, if Owen wants to go in I'll go, otherwise the spiders get left alone.

Phil

Nope, Owen isn't convinced its worth it.  But...  If S'Vith wants to go all Leeroy Jenkins, that's fine with me!

SteveRogers

S'Vith wouldn't want to put the whole party in jeopardy.  How well, honestly, would we fare in this situation in terms of combat?

Lotofsnow

Depends on how many spiders and what kind.

SpamHead

S'Vith will get spell support from me if he does! If he wants to do that Horcrust won't want his party member to get any more poisoned than must.

Phil

If its a single giant spider, it'd be pretty darn easy for us 5 to take it down.  I had two of my party fight one, so am familiar with them.  And the poison isn't anything too troubling.  If its two, then it'd be a bit more challenging, and three could be a very tough fight.

Of course, my familiarity with them as a player doesn't mean Owen knows any of this, and if I were Mike I'd buff it just to mess with us after so much deliberation :).

Also, when deciding what to throw at Moira and Jack I came across the Spider Swarm.  Which is not something I want Owen to encounter any time soon.

Yeah 1st level poison is not going to be that bad. We are however not at full strength and three might get someone unconscious.

And spider swarm sounds like something resistant to melee attacks (but not area spells).

Porteiro

I'm a little disappointed that nobody reacted to my Hobbit reference.

TheTick

Phil, my eyes did linger on the spider swarm, but since I'm fairly certain this spider is the one your goblin PCs got warned about, I'm keeping it as is.  I didn't think it would give much trouble to a full party, but one with much of their resources spent might sweat a little.  :)

Wow Porter, that went right over my head :).

Oof, indefensible for me, since my son is reading The Hobbit right now.

Yeah Mike, I too assumed they are one in the same.  Interesting that we don't actually know if the spider is in the cave right now.  That'd make sense, considering we don't know if the goblins from that module are going to kill it or not :).

Porteiro

Jeddy talked about how his uncle (a halfling) had a run-in with giant spiders while he was adventuring with a group of dwarves.
