Grab the +1 wakizashi hanging at my hip. You'll take a -4 (-3 due to the +1, so you'll roll 1d20+0) to attacks with it, but it might be better than damaging yourself when you punch it (if that happens).

Owen isn't going to piss off his friend and agree to go kill a spider for no good reason.

If you want to pitch the idea, maybe suggest that you go grapple with it while we search the chamber, and then we haul ass and leave it alive.  Jeddy has heal spells to spare, I think.

Crazy/stupid plan, but that might convince the druid.  Otherwise, I'd recommend you just go race off to fight the spider and don't wait for permission ;).

I have a decent Steath bonus and can cast sleep if all else fails.

That's actually pretty brilliant.  Sneak up, sleep it, search, then leave.  Almost a pleasant experience for the spider.

If it's 5+ HD then, no way. Also if it can resist a 15 Will DC then sleep is useless (if it has a low Wisdom score than no problem).

I'd advise having S'vith nearby to grab it if the sleep fails.

Though this all hinges on Faraway being okay with this idea.  If he objects, than you guys may as well go kill it ;).

One thing - spiders are notoriously difficult to get the drop on, if it is indeed a spider in there.  Indeed, you may wish to ask Faraway (read: he rolls a knowledge check) about spiders if you want to know more about them.  He rolled low on the amoeba, maybe the dice will favor him now.
