I really don't stand a chance of hitting him do I? *Sigh* he is also probably immune to magical sleep so that won't work, if he's focusing on Owen summon monster I will be useless for distraction (it'll still flank with Owen which he totally needed back there)

While you get a penalty for shooting into melee, it's offset by the fact that you target touch AC. Once you get a few levels in and you have some extra spells, you'll be fine. There's a reason Magic Missile is popular - no attack roll.

Actually, I was thinking you couldn't step diagonally past an enemy, but you can, so Owen's flank is totally back on. Writing up shortly.

Huh, I don't want to cause any confusion, but the 16 I put in the link URL included the flank. The actual roll was a 14. If a 16 doesn't hit, I still missed.

Yep, putting the correct roll in the link URL was me trying to make things easier, but then I had to explain the difference between the roll as reported and as linked. Which made it more confusing than if I had just not adjusted it.

Ah well. Hitting on a six was going to be tough even with a flank and smite evil.
