Jade Regent - OOC

QuotePhil may have an idea of this from running a game that is centered in Sandpoint.

None of the materials I've read for my campaign are particularly clear on what gear is available.  I know there's an apothecary alchemist that sells potions if we wanted to pick up some of those instead (assuming he survives until the Jade Regent campaign timeline).  They're probably the cheaper option if we want a little more healing backup at a lower price.

Also, perhaps it depends a bit on what extent Jeddy is planning on being a healer.  There was at least once where I was surprised that the oracle took an offensive action instead of using one of his heals.  I don't have enough 3.X combat experience to really judge whats the best course of action sometimes, however.

[Also Owen really wants a masterwork greatsword ;)]

Lotofsnow

Yeah, the reason I suggested the wand was to free up Jeddy to do what he wants.

Okay, you'll get 1200gp from goblin slaying, and another 979gp, from the following items:

1 x Small Masterwork Chain Shirt
1 x Small Masterwork Composite Longbow
5 x Small +1 Animal Bane Arrows
5 x Skyrocket Fireworks (got a good deal on these)
5 x Masterwork Shuriken (Ameiko gave you full value for these herself, as they might make an interesting decoration and conversation piece at the Rusty Dragon)
55gp found in the goblin camp
112gp, 329sp in the chest

My assumption is you would keep the two potions of Cure Light Wounds, and Jeddy kept the spear.  I'm assuming you kept the fan to refer to the map, and if you want to sell the hairpin, say so.  Let me know if I missed anything.

As mentioned, there is one Wand of Cure Light Wounds available, partially used.  It has 33 charges remaining, and costs 495gp.  You can get additional potions of CLW and CMW at the cathedral, as well as the typical staples (Bless and similar).  Anything not typical would take a day or two of in-game time to get.  Similar for weapons, you can get common and masterwork versions of just about anything but some exotics, but magic weapons are fairly rare in Sandpoint.  The armory has a few, but most nobles commission their magical weapons from Magnimar.

TheTick

Oh, one more thing - the chest itself is worth something, and if you want to sell it, Ameiko will offer to buy it.  Once cleaned up fully, it would make a fine decoration as well.

I really do think we should get the wand. That's 33 Cure Light Wounds that Jeddy and I don't have to cast.

Phil

I am fine with selling the chest.  Though some other character might want to handle the transaction, Owen would likely just give it to her :).

(Actually that's not a bad idea, RP wise, depending on much the others wish to get the money from it)

SteveRogers

Depends on how much she would pay for the chest.

I would be in favor of getting the wand.  It seems like a smart long-term move because then we won't have to worry about resting as often, right?

Phil

Yeah its fine with me.  There'll be plenty of time for me to get a masterwork weapon later on.

Lotofsnow

There will be money left over for a masterwork greatsword if you can find one. 350gp is the base price.

SteveRogers

Let's just go gamble all the money away.

TheTick

Bah, I was going to give S'Vith what he really wanted in the next treasure horde - an enormous block of cheese.

Lotofsnow

Share of the treasure above per PC is 435g 8s not including the chest if we sell it.

Wand is 99g from each of us, leaving 336g 8s. Both Jeddy and I can use it out of the box. I think Horcrust could with Use Magical Device checks.

Base price of a MW Greatsword is 350g. If you trade in your current greatsword, that should make up the difference I'd imagine. Otherwise, I'm sure you could procure a loan from one or some of us.

TheTick

She'd give you 100gp for the chest, and wouldn't think of taking it as a gift - as a former adventurer herself, she knows the risks you all took to get it and bring it there, and the costs with that.

There will never be enough cheese in the world to satisfy S'Vith his hunger.   8)
