Pausing here in case S'Vith wants to go in order.
Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you've got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception!

Say, wouldn't your Acrobatics be +7 for this?  Jumping won't be any different for you until you hit 5th level, when you get a bonus to it. (don't worry about rerolling, you would've made the roll without it, but for future reference is why I ask)

The character sheet lists Acrobatics as +7 but Acrobatics (Jump) separately as a +3.  I wasn't really sure which was the better option.  Just hoped I'd make it either way.

Lotofsnow

Yeah, you get a -4 penalty to jump since your stubby dwarf legs only manage a speed of 20'.

TheTick

ah-ha, there it is.  That makes sense.  Well, at least the bonus you get in a few levels will make up for it.

Horcrust's eagle gets an attack - rolling that in a second.

That exchange makes us all sound badass.  Well written, Tick.   :D

Can someone refresh my memory on how to roll Flurry of Blows now that I've levelled up?

TheTick

Thanks. :D  I do try and capture the frenetic, 'this all happens in six seconds' aspect of combat.  Of course, it will cut both ways (quite literally) as the toughness of the fights scale up.  :D

Horcrust fires a blast of flame at the creature, only for it to strike Faraway in the back.

Attack Roll: 1d20 - 2: 12 - 2=10

"Ops!"

OOC: I assume this is correct?.

Ranged attack into melee? That's -4. Your ranged touch attach is +3, I think, so that's only -1.

Unless you mean the part about it striking Faraway, then that's wrong, too. The rules assume you are so keen on avoiding your allies that you shoot it wide.

Missed your post...

Your flurry is a full action that consists of 2 attacks at 1d20+3. The bonus increases by +1 for every level.

SteveRogers

So, I roll a 1d20+4 since it was +3 at my last level?

Lotofsnow

Hm. No, it should be +3 at this level. What level are we?

Flurry attack is monk level + strength mod + flurry mod (-2)

At 1st level, that's 1 + 3 + -2 = +2
At 2nd level, it's 2 + 3 + -2 = +3

Your regular attack bonus at level 1 was +3. Now, since your base attack bonus has gone up, you get +4 to regular attacks.

Also, your damage is 1d6+3 for each successful attack (1d6 + strength mod).

SteveRogers

I may have just looked at too new of an attack in my own posts as reference, so that could just be my own confusion.

Oh, I was just taking in the penalty for Faraway as cover, not for melee. I also forgot to add my BAB to my DEX mod. (That would have been awesome from a role-playing perspective, Horcust arguing with Faraway about whose fault that was) I also just use 3.5 rules for most situations, 3.5 says you can hit an ally if you missed within a certain margin.

TheTick

I believe for 3.5 the only RAW time you could hit an ally with a ranged attack was if they were grappling.  And splash weapons.

For Lotofsnow, the gatehouse you are in has a ceiling but I have no problem with you calling Neith in through the open gate.
