That's basically that for the adventure.  If we were continuing on in a 3.5 game, there'd be treasure and gear to parcel out, but since I'm switching to a Pathfinder adventure path, things will be a little different.  If anyone *does* want to continue with the same character (even with the mechanical changes) each of you will have a small benefit to denote this is a character that's been played before.  It may be a masterwork weapon or armor, or a few scrolls or potions, etc.

I'd be content continuing to play with Bigsby.

Lotofsnow

Would we be starting at level 1 again?

TheTick

Bards have more fun in Pathfinder. :D  A lot of very flavorful archetypes.

Yes, level 1, as it makes the book-keeping easier for me. :P

Bah. I think it is just your way to make sure Yiki stays in check.

TheTick

:D  More you don't want me changing up those encounters that were originally supposed to be for a level 1 party.  Which would probably involve me flipping through the Bestiaries..."ooh, this sounds cool!"  "TPK, sorry guys..."

You guys are welcome to role play heading back to town to get return the cargo (as it will take either a ship or a great many carts to do it) but hitching a ride on one of the ships out of Seawell will be an excellent way to kick off one of the Adventure Paths I'm thinking of putting you guys through. :D

So, since I'm sticking with Yiki, and he already has a Masterwork Battle Axe, any chance I can simply make his Pathfinder interation's orc double axe into Masterwork instead? Also, am I right in assuming he'll get to hang on to that headband of stout heart?

TheTick

Yes to the first, and let me look at the second - I'd probably want to keep everyone moving forward with about the same level of stuff.  It would've balanced out eventually.  Maybe everyone will have a little custom item with one save bonus like that, to make it fair.

Sweet. Yiki licks the blood of his enemies from the vicious twin blades of Gormfel.

SteveRogers

What do I need to do to make the change?

TheTick

You can take a gander at the Bard page at the SRD - if you want to stick with the standard Bard, you can just figure your attribute scores and fill in a character sheet based on that.  We'll be doing a 20 point buy - by the way, Lotofsnow, is Yiki 20PB? - and you'd want to focus on CHA as it affects your casting and Bard music, just like before, with Dex.  You will also pick a favored class (most likely Bard) and a bonus based on that (either an extra hit point, skill point, or something else per level based on your race).

Where things get...different from D&D 3.5 is with archetypes.  An archetype (scroll down to the bottom of that Bard page) is basically a way to do a quick customization of the class.  You can safely ignore them but they can be a boon to a player who has this high concept for a character in their head.  "I'd like to be a famous singer!"  Okay, Celebrity.  "I'd like to use insults and quips in combat!"  The Prankster Gnome Bard is calling you.  That sort of thing.

If you have any different idea about what Bigsby's all about, let me know and I can give you an example.  PCGen has more stuff for PF than it does D&D3.5, though some books still aren't in there.  And I love building characters.

Yes, Yiki is 20pb. Hell, he's even Pathfinder Societies compliant.
