I think exploration is the way to go.  I'm indifferent to what we explore.

pooka

I want to seek justice.  But that's just me.

Sputnik314

what is the chance of a ryther pearl appearing in the tower? Also I'd like to transform into a rouge eventually.

TheTick

I might be able to work in some background-related fun once I start writing my own adventures, or maybe in between, just need to work out how to keep it fun for everyone.

As for switching to rogue, that can be done easily enough.  I think it's typically done after Ranger 2, as you get some extra goodies from that.  You guys will be Level 2 in the very near future, depending on what happens in your next encounter or two.

Speaking of, is exploring the beach winning out here?  Just want to see if there's a consensus.
Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you've got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception!

Lotofsnow

Yeah, I was thinking the tower when I suggested bringing the fight to them.

TheTick

If that's the case, I need to get a map going, gonna need it. :D

Yeah.  Otherwise, we don't really know who to take the fight to.  And we don't really have the full story for the mayor back at town either.  We know some people were attacked.  We don't know by whom or why.

Helpful notes for newer players:

1.  If an enemy is described differently than others, there's a reason.
2.  Just because you can see a certain number of enemies doesn't mean there aren't more around.  Doesn't mean there are, either.
3.  Anything you can do, the enemy can do.
4.  Discretion can be the better part of valor.  So can valor, though.
5.  Problems can be approached from multiple angles.

Is there anything my spell Ghost Sounds would accomplish in this scenario?

Lotofsnow

Could distract them. Maybe see how ready for a fight they are if they immediately reach for weapons due to a sound from the other side of the clearing.

SteveRogers

That was my idea as well.  Or possibly scare them away and allow us to explore their camp.

Depends on how creative you are.  The description for Ghost Sound says you can create as much noise as four people.  There's a lot of ways you can use it, that's part of the fun with illusions.

(also, see the new "A possible change" thread, when it's convenient)

So, I could cast Ghost Sound to make it sound like a small group loudly approaching their camp in an attempt to scare them away from the site?

TheTick

Certainly, but keep in mind the 25ft range at this point.  Actually, that may put a damper on things right there, though you could reposition from where I've put you without being seen if you keep to the trees, most likely.
