Likely story on the roll!  ;)  and the HP should be fine.

For Yiki, let's see a Diplomacy roll to see if he can help calm either of these guys.

Ok, but only if I get some sort of circumstance bonus for having beer in hand.

Rolled 1d20-2 : 7 - 2, total 5

TheTick

Ha!  I may just take that into account.  Will resolve this tonight if I can, as I'm about to leave for the day.

To do a skill roll (or really anything), just check your sheet for what to add to it and roll it in the thread (you can see the one for Yiki above, as an example) with a bit of flavor text .  The difficulty of it is set by me so I'll figure out whether or not you can talk your way out of this. ;)

My Diplomacy skill modifier says it's 6, so would I roll d20 and add 6 then?  Like this:

This dice roll has been tampered with!
Rolled 1d20+6 : 4 + 6, total 10

Could I do the same in this scenario using my bluff skill and roll d20 plus 6?

TheTick

Diplomacy would fit better here, as your goal is just to make someone like you better.  Bluff would be directed towards convincing someone of something, not necessarily needing them to like you.

Unfortunately, none of your rolls are helping you much, besides Init meaning you presumably go first.

That was more of a hypothetical question to verify the process was similar anyway.

TheTick

Yes, you have the right of it.

I hope my questions won't become bothersome.  I just don't want my lack of experience to decrease anyone else's fun.

TheTick

The questions are a-ok.  We have all been new.

I'm not positive I did the attack roll properly.

Lotofsnow

Looks right to me. You just rolled poorly. However, in general, it is at least a Standard Action (so, an attack action equivalent) or more to perform a Bluff action, so you wouldn't be able to attack this turn.

SteveRogers

Ah, I didn't know that.

TheTick

You can read up on the Actions in Combat page of the online rules for more on that, as well as checking the pages for the specific skills for details on that.  For now, we'll just go with what you wrote, since you were not successful in either case. ;)  Yiki is up.  Oh, and don't worry about spoilering the dice rolls, makes them hard to read.

I will keep those things in mind.  I made this turn at work, so I couldn't bring up any online rules I'm aware of.  Most of the sites I've tried are blocked while I'm here.
