Character Creation

Yep.  It can be more complicated than that (maybe there's a bard song in play granting a bonus to hit, or the Cleric has blessed you, etc.) but that's the basic idea.
Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you've got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception!

But the Dungeon Master (you) will correct for those things before calculating who does what to who?

Edit:  I want to try to get my questions out of the way now, so I can try to avoid causing speedbumps in the game.  I hope I'm not being overwhelming.

TheTick

Not a problem!  I'd expect you to try to add in bonuses you already know about (from your own magic or bard song, for instance, or an all-day buff from the cleric).  If you look at some posts that Lotofsnow did for his Orc in the game so far, you can see he adds in the benefits and detriments from charging and his Barbarian Rage when possible.  But we all forget things and make mistakes.

The barbarian roars wordlessly enraged. He rushes across the room, drawing his two axes and swinging them in simultaneous chops, quick and deadly, at the talkative corpse.

This dice roll has been tampered with!
Rolled 1d20+5 : 15 + 5, total 20
Rolled 1d8+6 : 1 + 6, total 7
Rolled 1d20+5 : 20 + 5, total 25
Rolled 1d6+6 : 4 + 6, total 10

OOC: Raging, so +4 to strength (+2 hit, damage); +4 con (+2 hp for a total of 8 ); -2 AC (total of 12 AC); Rounds 1/7

SteveRogers

There's some sort of virtual dice mechanism I can use to roll too, correct?  I don't have a set of physical dice.

Lotofsnow

Yeah. When you hit reply to a post (or create a new one), you'll see a white D6 as one of the different formatting options:

Just enter the numbers you want calculated in there:

Rolled 1d20+6 : 4 + 6, total 10

That doesn't seem terribly complicated.   :)

The resolution makes it tough to read (try exporting as pdf maybe), but it looks better. You are still hampered by your gear because, after 20 lbs., you are considered lightly encumbered. Essentially, if you can get your gear weight down by 3 lbs. you'd be better off. It is tough playing a small creature with an 8 Strength.

Here's my character sheet updated to reflect my new masterwork battleaxe.

I also converted Yiki to Pathfinder today and will be taking him to Gen Con with me to have some more adventures.

SteveRogers

I may switch his inventory and stats around a little bit yet.

Lotofsnow

Eh, not really. It looks fine though. Don't forget to pick your spells.

SteveRogers

It wouldn't let me add more than the ones already listed automatically.  Should I be able to pick more?

Yep. On the spells tab, in the left window that says "Bard," if you click on the word, it'll list spell levels (0-6). You can learn 4 0 level spells. These will go in the "Known Spells" section of the next window over. Double click on the spells you want under the 0 level section and it should move them over to your "Known" list.
