Today, it's beautiful and sunny.

Yesterday, when we had to walk to synagogue, it rained so much that the streets flooded and we had to wade through the water to get there. :(

The sun came out and it cleared up enough for us to walk home easily for the break between the morning and afternoon services.

But when it started thundering in the afternoon, we decided to hightail it back to synagogue before it started raining, so we wouldn't be walking through flood waters again. (We didn't end up beating the rain, but we beat the floods.)

Even though it's sunny today, there are still big residual puddles in the streets.

No rain here yesterday -- just mid-to-high-80s (and low 70s had been predicted). So it was hot outside, and freezing inside shul.

We broke all records for freezing inside shul this year. Even the men complained. Heck, even the Hazan (Cantor, I guess, to you non-Jews ;)) complained, and as far as I'm concerned, he was doing the most work of anyone.

They had the building maintenance guy turn the thermostat to slightly less frigid for the afternoon service.

High winds kept fire daners up, and clouds out of the picture. It's a cold airmass from the Gulf of Alaska, and if it weren't for compression warming, we'd be in the 40's this morning.

As it is: About 60 degrees, warming to mid-eighties today. :)

We've had a recent upswing back into the 80s that I don't care for at all.

And the office has been warm, too. :evil:

Windy and dry, we should get more red flag warnings this week. Napa Valley was on fire last week. A bit. Nothing too huge.

The fog returns on Saturday. Till then: too warm. A nice breeze helps, though.
